Terms and Conditions

By visiting this website, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Overview

This website (the "Site") is owned and operated by Wildwood Counselling & Psychotherapy ("Wildwood", "I", "me", "my"). The terms "you" and "your" refer to anyone who visits or uses the Site.

By accessing or using the Site, you accept these terms and conditions in full. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site. I may update these terms from time to time, and any changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

Use of the Site

You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. If you are under 18, please use the Site with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.

If you contact me or make a booking through the Site, you agree to provide information that is accurate and your own. You must not impersonate another person, use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or post or transmit anything that is abusive, defamatory, obscene, or infringes the rights of others.

Information only — not therapy

The content on this Site, including any blog posts, articles, or resources, is provided for general information purposes only. It is not counselling, psychotherapy, or professional mental health advice, and it is not a substitute for working with a qualified practitioner who knows your individual circumstances.

Reading this Site, following me on social media, or contacting me through the Site does not create a therapeutic relationship between us. A therapeutic relationship begins only when we have completed an intake process and entered into a client agreement together.

While I take care to keep the content of this Site accurate and current, I make no warranty that it is complete, reliable, or error-free, and information may change without notice. You are responsible for how you choose to use the information provided here.

Not a crisis service

Wildwood Counselling & Psychotherapy is not a crisis or emergency service, and this Site is not monitored around the clock.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. If you need urgent mental health support, you can contact:

  • Lifeline — 13 11 14 (24/7)

  • Suicide Call Back Service — 1300 659 467 (24/7)

  • Mental Health Helpline Tasmania — 1800 332 388

  • 13YARN — 13 92 76 (24/7, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)

  • Kids Helpline — 1800 55 1800 (24/7, for ages 5 to 25)

Services and bookings

Descriptions of services on this Site are general in nature. When you become a client, the details of our work together — including fees, payment, cancellations, confidentiality and its limits, and telehealth arrangements — are set out in a separate client agreement provided during intake. If there is any inconsistency between these terms and your client agreement, the client agreement prevails.

The autism and ADHD screening service described on this Site is exploratory in nature. It is not a diagnostic assessment and does not result in a clinical diagnosis.

Counselling services at Wildwood do not attract Medicare rebates.

Payments and refunds

Where payments are made through the Site or an associated booking system, your payment details are handled by a third-party payment processor and are subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy. Fees, cancellation terms, and any applicable refunds are set out in your client agreement. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded.

Intellectual property

All content on this Site — including text, images, graphics, logos, and the selection and arrangement of these — is owned by or licensed to Wildwood Counselling & Psychotherapy and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print content from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not otherwise reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from the Site without my prior written permission.

Requests for permission can be sent to info@wildwoodcounselling.com.au.

Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and resources. These are provided for your convenience only. I do not control and am not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of third-party sites, and a link does not imply my endorsement of them. You access third-party sites at your own risk.

Testimonials

Testimonials are examples of real experiences and opinions of people’s experiences with Wildwood Counselling & Psychotherapy and are on the Site for illustration only. Testimonials are displayed with permission and are of actual people and their results. Testimonials are not intended to guarantee current or future users the same or similar results.

Privacy

I take your privacy seriously. Personal information collected through the Site is handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988. Please read the Privacy Policy for details about what information is collected and how it is used and protected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I exclude liability for any loss or damage (including indirect or consequential loss) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, or from any errors, omissions, interruptions, viruses, or third-party actions affecting the Site.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees or other rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, my liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, including (where applicable) resupplying the relevant services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify me against any loss, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia. Any dispute arising in connection with the Site or these terms will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tasmania. I ask that any concerns first be raised with me directly so we can try to resolve them in good faith.

Wildwood Counselling & Psychotherapy operates on the lands of lutriwita (Tasmania).

I acknowledge the palawa/pakana people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which I live and work, and pay my respects to Elders past and present. I acknowledge and pay respect to all Tasmanian First Nations Communities, all of whom have survived invasion and dispossession, and continue to maintain their identity and culture. Sovereignty was never ceded.
